Randall also subdivided the lot along its perimeter streets, and used the lot for growing abundant produce in planting beds and orchards. Alexander Randall died in 1881 leaving the house to his second wife, Elizabeth Blanchard Randall. After her death in 1895, three of Alexander's children formed the Randall Trustees to care for the disposal of Randall's estate and the continued maintenance of the lot.
