Is Roundup Herbicide Bad ???

Roundup (Glyphosate) appears to be a problem for people according to what you hear and read. Lawyers want you to call if you develop some forms of cancer. Many regular people will tell you how bad roundup is for your health and how it contaminates the environment.

I’ve attended countless seminars (over decades) concerning Glyphosate (Roundup). Recently I attended a three hour virtual seminar at U-Mass on Glyphosate. It has been the number one studied herbicide in the world that continues to come out with the same conclusion.

First of all, we do not consider any pesticide as “safe”. That being said, glyphosate has an excellent record through thousands of studies that showed no connection to human health issues and that it does break down quickly in the soil becoming bound to soil particles. It’s the law to follow the label instructions. There was a judgement against Roundup determined by a jury.  A jury opinion should not rule over science. Science is the result of good, sound studies by experts – we have that times 1000+.

Without getting into details (you can check it out for yourself ), many groups and organizations support the continued label use of Roundup. They include the US-EPA, World Health Organization, Health Canada, European Food & Safety Authority, and many others. In 2018, the Agricultural Health Study followed 57,000 applicators exposed to Roundup and found that exposure was not associated with overall cancer. In 2020, the EPA continued their position of “no changes to human health / ecology”.

I thought you might be interested in the science behind Roundup (Glyphosate). Still, be responsible – read and follow the label, use common sense and if you are still concerned – don’t use it!
